In 2009, comedian Zach Galifianakis created a viral sensation with his web series “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis.” The show, which featured Galifianakis sitting between two ferns, interviewing celebrities in a hilariously awkward and often cringe-worthy manner, quickly gained a massive following and became a staple of internet culture.
